Walter O. Lewis, age 78, of Silver Ridge Park West section of Berkeley Township, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Holiday Care Center in Toms River, NJ.
Born in Linden, Walter lived in Cranford prior to relocating to the Toms River area 12 years ago. He was a United States Air Force veteran and worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Local 825 International Union of Operating Engineers. He was a kind-hearted man with a wonderful sense of humor. He had a passion and an appreciation for cars and formed the Igniters Club with his lifelong friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Milton and Bertha Lewis and his brother Milton (Russ). Surviving is his loving wife of 53 years, Susan Lewis (nee Gundersen); children Sandra Clark and her husband Roger and Mark Lewis and his wife Melissa; grandchildren Brandon, Alyssa, Sean, Mackenzie, Kristina, Jillian and Elizabeth; his brother Raymond and his wife Gerry; and many nieces and nephews.
