Ryan Quinn and Kevin Quinn Jr. are the founders of Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services. They have been in the funeral industry day to day for the last ten years although the funeral business is something their family has known for generations. Ryan and Kevin’s great grandfather opened the first family funeral home in Orange, New Jersey in 1920’s. Their grandfather Jack Quinn began working for the family business and soon thereafter Jack’s two sons John (Chip) Quinn and Kevin Quinn Sr. joined the family business after attending college. In 2004 Chip’s son Ryan joined the family business and in 2005 Kevin’s son Kevin Jr. joined as well. Ryan and Kevin realized that there had to be a better way to help families by providing great service but at very affordable prices.
Ryan was born and raised in Toms River before moving to Monmouth County, while Kevin was born and raised in Essex County NJ. Ryan graduated from Fairfield University in 2003 and Kevin graduated from Villanova University soon after in 2005. They learned how to run funeral homes from their fathers and then in March of 2014 Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services was born.
The vision for Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services is to offer a funeral home that is as welcoming as possible for families. Horizon has one visitation room inspired by the Jersey Shore with ocean décor, while the second room has a more modern feel which is inspired by New York City. Technology was paramount to Ryan and Kevin’s vision in order to help better serve their families. There are wall-mounted tablets, which identify the visitation rooms, multiple flat screen televisions in each room for DVD tribute videos and the ability to provide a webcast of the funeral service for families that are not able to attend.
Ryan and Kevin’s main focus is to deliver the highest quality services at the lowest price possible. Their model is one that is truly unique to the industry. “Our mission is to provide our customers with exceptional service, top of the line facility, all without over charging them. We don’t have shareholders or analysts on Wall Street that we need to please. We learned a long time ago from our grandfather that the families we serve come first. That ideology has been lost over the years as many funeral homes worry more about the business and less about the families. Kevin and I believe that every life deserves to be honored and your finances deserve to be respected.” -Ryan Quinn.

Since she was a young child, Diana had a passion for assisting families during their times of grief. At the age of 3 she selected her grandfather’s casket and flowers for his funeral. Years later, while writing a research paper on possible careers to pursue, Diana explored the notion of becoming a funeral director. After graduating Southern Regional High School in 2005, she went on to fulfill her prerequisites at Ocean County Community College and later transferred to Mercer County Community College’s Funeral Service Program. She was the Treasurer of Sigma Phi Sigma, the funeral service fraternity and graduated in 2009 on the Dean’s List. She became licensed in 2011. As a funeral director, her empathy and professionalism aid her in making families feel comforted during the loss of a loved one.
In 2016, Diana joined Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services as a part time director. Since then she has met with countless families and prides herself on serving each one with dignity and professionalism. Her families find her relatable and easy to talk to during their difficult time. Several months later she became full time and is honored to be able to contribute to Horizon’s already sterling reputation.
